چکیده

A self-consistent mathematical description of the magnetic field of fluted sunspot penumbrae is presented. This description is based on an expansion of the nonlinear forcefree magnetohydrostatic equations written in cylindrical coordinates. The lowest order solutions are mathematically equivalent to laminated force-free equilibria in Cartesian geometry. The lowest order solutions have no toroidal component of the magnetic field and the magnetic pressure does not vary with azimuth but the solutions allow arbitrary variations of the magnetic field components with azimuth. Explicit solutions are presented which have a realistic radial profile of the magnetic field strength and reproduce the basic features of the observations.

Generation of Alfvén Waves by Small-Scale Magnetic Reconnection in Solar Spicules

Alfvén waves dissipation is an extensively studied mechanism for the coronal heating problem. These waves can be generated by magnetic reconnection and propagated along the reconnected field lines. Here, we study the generation of Alfvén waves at the presence of both steady flow and sheared magnetic field in the longitudinally density stratified of solar spicules. The initial flow is assumed to...

Study of Solar Magnetic and Gravitational Energies Through the Virial Theorem

Virial theorem is important for understanding stellar structures. It produces an interesting connection between magnetic and gravitational energies. Using the general form of the virial theorem including the magnetic field (toroidal magnetic field), we may explain the solar dynamo model in relation to variations of the magnetic and gravitational energies. We emphasize the role of the gravitatio...

Time Delays in Cosmic Ray Propagation

Cosmic Rays (CR) travel at speeds essentially indistinguishable from the speed of light. However whilst travelling through magnetic fields, both regular and turbulent, they are delayed behind the light since they are usually charged particles and their paths are not linear. Those delays can be so long that they are an impediment to correctly identifying sources which may be variable in time. Fu...

The Effect of Solar Particles in the Choice of Alloy Shielding in a Satellite

The damages and logical failures in dierent parts of a satellite may occur during a solar event, when a bulk of solar energetic particles approaching the Earth. During solar events, these particles may cause extensive damages which are even permanent (hard errors). A way of damage reduction is designing a proper coating as the fuselage. As protons are the major component of solar particles and ...
